I love this song! I think Avalon and Ryan gave a strong performance.

I dont like Avalon, she consistantly sang off key. her voice is not consistantly interesting and I think she needs a lot of work. I dont know why they made it as far as they did. Amazing voice from Avalon? Amazing that she made it as far as she did, Kenny even commented about her being all over the place. That's because she was off key. She holds the mic in the same place everytime, she moves like a robot on stage. She needs a lot more practice and more of a variety of songs before she ever tries something like this again.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you guys on Avalon.

My wife and I absolutely love the performance and her soft, sensual voice definitely make it happen. She has a great voice people! Very unique. I agree that Ryan definitely has that Johnny Cash thing going though. American Track is by far the best original song I have heard on any of these competitions including American Idol. Avalon has some talented friends (soon to be very rich friends)! Lyrics are amazing!!! I looked for them online and couldn't find them so I am posting them here.

Here are the lyrics so far as I can tell... I couldn't understand the words in the first line of the chorus ("Saw the poor ???????") or in the second to last line of Avalon's verse that says, "I learned to ????? care." Any help?

Avalon is trying to play up the part - like she was told. If Ryan didn't want to (or didn't feel comfortable being) be paired w/ a woman, he should have gone to Nashville Star rather than CYDuet.

I agree that Avalon has been a bit boring and monotone - but I think American Track was one of the best performances this year. jmho

Ive rewatched this weeks show several times. My opinion of the SM song did a complete reversal, I hated it at first, now I love it! My opinion of the other duos is unchanged. JBR was good but I just dont like that song. I still get the Johnny Cash vibe from the American Track song and performance. I think Ryan sounded like Johnny in his last video even. I still dont get what the judges hear to praise Avalon so. I have even closed my eyes and listened, as Kenny likes to do. She still sounds flat almost all the time to me. In this song, particularly where they are staring down each other, as Naomi put it. She has gorgeous eyes, and knows how to use them. Although she "loves" kenny, wants a job from Scott, its only Ryan that she makes the goo goo eyes at. We women know that look, believe me! I think Ryan seems uncomfortable by it. He doesnt hug her even casually as the others do each other at the end, etc. I dont see any interest from him and wonder what his wife thinks? I still think Scott is going to sign them is why he wanted a promise they would stay together and he didnt give them the good bye good luck speech he gave the Stellas.

I thought it was a great song, too! The performance was one of my favorite of the entire show. Big Kenny was like a proud papa. They rocked.
