Taylor Swift's Fearless, of course, ranks at the top, with 2.7 million sales. Though Michael Jackson's Number Ones and Lady Gaga's Fame rank No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, Susan Boyle's I Dreamed a Dream is coming up fast. If she keeps selling 500K+ a week, she might just catch Swift before year's end.

    Now, on to the Idols:

No. 26: Carrie Underwood, Play On (844,000)
No. 28: Daughtry, Leave This Town (806,000)
No. 30: Kelly Clarkson, All I Ever Wanted (784,000)
No. 58: David Cook, David Cook (451,000)
No. 64: Carrie Underwood, Carnival Ride (432,000)

    No. 143: Daughtry, Daughtry (241,000)
No. 148: Jennifer Hudson, Jennifer Hudson (234,000)

Command Performance Presents: A Holiday Special for the Troops

The Holiday Special, the third in a series of specials, marks the first featuring full length performances. This holiday edition includes music performed for the troops by various artists including: Aaron Lewis, Dave Koz, Flyleaf, Kellie Pickler, Orla Fallon, Papa Roach, Saving Abel, Straight No Chaser and switchfoot.

Over the last few months the Pentagon Channel has gone on location to record special holiday song performances and greetings to air for the troops stateside and overseas.
Featured songs range from original pieces to a cover of Elvis' Blue Christmas, a jazzy Santa Baby and more!

One of the first artists to participate, Jazz artist David Koz was honored to provide music for this special. "Especially at holiday time, our minds and hearts go out to the men and women of our armed services dedicating their lives selflessly so that we may enjoy the comforts and safety of home," he said.

Not all featured artists are American but still wanted to show how much they appreciate the service and sacrifice of the troops. Irish born Orla Fallon, former Celtic Woman member, said "It was such an honor and a privilege to be asked to perform at this special Command Performance. It was a very small way of saying thanks to the very special people who give so much to us all to protect our freedom."

An artist familiar with the military, Jon Foreman, lead singer of Switchfoot said, "Coming from a military town like San Diego, we're well acquainted with the sacrifices that enlisted men and women make for their country. We're honored to be able to play a few tunes for them."

The Pentagon Channel is excited to provide this special to the troops to provide a unique taste of home for the holidays while they are deployed. "Having previously been deployed to Afghanistan, I know what it's like to be away from family during the holidays," remarks Pentagon Channel host SSgt Brian Buckwalter. "I know this piece will bring some joy to the men and women serving over there now. We hope this shows them that they are not forgotten about during this holiday season."

In keeping with the holiday spirit, Command Performance is also happy to bring a little something extra...stocking stuffers! Command Performance had many more original musical performances that couldn't fit into the holiday special and we decided those performances were too great to miss. Located on the Pentagon Channel website our special gift performances are headlined by the a capella group "Straight, No Chaser" with their unique version of the "Twelve Days of Christmas". You'll also hear more songs from Fly Leaf, Papa Roach, Deer Tick...and more!

The Command Performance Holiday Special will debut on Dec. 16th and run through New Year's Day for troops around the world. Please check www.pentagonchannel.mil for times.

Command Performance is a weekly program designed to take a sneak-peek into the world of music and entertainment from a military perspective. It takes servicemembers backstage with their favorite performers by giving them the opportunity to pose questions in interviews aimed exclusively at members of the military. You can find all the Command Performance episodes or at the iTunes music store.

Looks like Nicole Richie’s not the only celeb changing her hair color with the cooler weather. After causing a stir when she traded her signature color for auburn at the CMAs, Kellie Pickler lightened up last week –leaving just a touch of strawberry in her newly blonde hair! We loved seeing the singer in a totally different look, but we think that the lighter color suits her bombshell style. Tell us: What do you think about Kellie losing the red and returning to blond?

Kelly Clarkson remains an easy No. 1 this week on the American Idol airplay chart, as well as on the USA TODAY Hot AC chart, where Already Gone has been on top for four weeks now.

Several Idol singles also showed good growth this week. While overall plays for Carrie Underwood's Cowboy Casanova fell by more than 500 spins, it gained Hot AC airplay and broke into that format's Top 30. Meanwhile, new single Temporary Home more than doubled its spins, hitting No. 26 on the Country chart.

Kris Allen's Live Like We're Dying picked up 558 spins, reaching new heights on both the Hot AC (No. 15) and Top 40 (No. 30) charts. Daughtry's Life After You is right behind Live Like We're Dying on both those charts, at No. 17 Hot AC and No. 31 Top 40. And, though it yet to break into the top 40 of either format, Adam Lambert's Whataya Want From Me looks like it might finally be getting its legs: Its 376 additional weekly spins were enough to bring it to No. 45 Hot AC, No. 44 Top 40 -- and to make it one of the 20 most played Idol tracks for the first time.

On the country chart, Kellie Pickler climbed five spots with Didn't You Know How Much I Loved You, from No. 29 to No. 24.

12/14/09.... Kellie is #6 with "DIDN'T YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVED YOU" & #24 on the Country chart. Kellie is #18 with "BEST DAYS OF YOUR LIFE". Kellie is #48 with "SANTA BABY". Kellie is #75 with "I WONDER". Kellie is # 82 with "THINGS THAT NEVER CROSS A MANS MIND

Kellie Pickler Leaves Nashville Mayor Speechless
Nashville Mayor Karl Dean was left agape and amazed when Kellie Pickler presented a check in the amount of $1,066,632 from the Country Music Association to the Nashville public school system for music education. The mayor is quite the talker, but he was struck stone-silent when the event happened. The money was a gift from the stars who waived their pay for performing at this year's CMA Music Festival. They say the mayor's mouth is still open, and not a word has passed his lips since Kellie presented the check.

The Morgan Shepherd Charitable Fund will make its annual trip to the Virginia Mountains on Monday, December 14, the charity announced this week.

Highlighting the daylong trip will be a free public concert by former American Idol Kellie Picker beginning at 4 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Galax, 1024 East Stuart Drive in Galax, Virginia.

The day will begin with a private tour of the Wood Brothers Racing Museum and a breakfast event at the PARC Worshop in Stuart, Virginia for the clients of the PARC Workshop. PARC is a training center for the mentally and physically disabled where the clients learn basic life skills such as cleaning, cooking, and manufacture and refinish furniture.
The charity will make an annual donation to the workshop to help with it's annual operating expenses.
The afternoon event, which is free and open to the public, will also include the band Mountain Creek Harmony, "The Mayberry Deputy" David Browning and Christian Comedian Barry McGee.

Several NASCAR drivers are also scheduled to attend, including Shepherd, Camping World Truck Series star Dennis Setzer, and Nationwide regulars Johnny Chapman and Brett Rowe.

The church seats 1200 people and the seats will be filled on a first-come basis.

The charity also hopes to distribute more than 1,000 holiday gift bags to the handicapped and less fortunate who attend the two events

More information is available by calling the Morgan Shepherd Charitable Fund office, and donations for the events are still be accepted.

    Pinheads & Patriots

Now that the Christmas season is here, the USO is sending some very famous people to entertain our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. They include singers Billy Ray Cyrus and Kellie Pickler, tennis star Anna Kournikova, and the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders. They're all going over, and they are patriots.

On the pinhead front, Congressman Maurice Hinchey of New York is a very liberal guy, but that doesn't explain this crazy statement.

The Dothan Civic Center was rockin' Saturday night as thousands flocked to see some of country music's hottest stars.

It was all part of Country Crossing's kick-off celebration.

But the event wasn't just a concert for the recently-opened entertainment complex, it also benefited a local charity.

People were seeing stars at the Dothan Civic Center Saturday night.

“I love Alabama firsthand, I have a lot of friends that live here and a lot of friends that are from here so it's good to be back,”

Country music sensation and former American Idol contestant headlined the event.

“I love her she's my favorite singer,” said 10-year-old Paige Hamm.
“I think she is awesome and very nice,” said 12-year-old Selby Pybus.

But the real reason behind the concert: to help those in need, this holiday season.

“I know we helped raise over 8,500 pounds of food raised $16,000 in cash and fed 92,000 families with this concert tonight, how do you argue with that?” said Ronnie Gilley.

“The need has been up about 30% this year so this has made a tremendous difference during the holidays,” said David Hands with the Wiregrass Area Food Bank.

“I think that being in the position that I’m in where I can help give back and help other people, that's what it's all about so you just embrace one another and it's all about spreading the love,” said Pickler.

Officials moved the concert from the Country Crossing site to the civic center because Mother Nature just wouldn't cooperate.

“It's mass capacity at the civic center, storming outside, freezing outside but we've been saying all the time country music is a big draw,” said Gilley.

“Country Crossing has committed to helping the non-profits in the wiregrass and this is the first one and we're just lucky we're the beneficiary of that,” added Hanks.

Pickler says it's the people that make Alabama a great place to perform.

“I'd never turn down a show in Alabama I love the people here it's fun, they're country just like me!” giggled Pickler.

News 4 asked Ronnie Gilley if he was disappointed that he was forced to move the party from Country Crossing site to civic center because of the weather.

Country Music artist Matt Kennon has taken the stage at a Dothan Civic Center nearing capacity. Local band Houston County is expected to perform near 7 p.m. with headliner Kellie Pickler following at about 8 p.m.

Fans began lining up outside the Dothan Civic Center early Saturday morning after event organizers decided to move the concert from the Country Crossing amphitheater to the Civic Center due to the threat of rain.

It appears to have been a wise move.

Outside, as fans scrambled to escape the weather, it was 45 degrees. The wind was blowing and the rain was steady. But inside it was a comfortable, dry, 72 degrees.

Debbie Murdock, Jill Weeks and Willie Weeks got up early Saturday morning and made the drive from Marianna, Fla., to Dothan, waiting all day long for a good vantage point at the concert.

“We’ve been here since 7:30 a.m.,“ Murdock said. “We pretty much sat out there on the cold concrete all day.“

Although more tickets were sold than the Civic Center will hold, patrons were still being allowed inside as of 6 p.m. There were no seats on the floor, which should create room to allow more people inside.
