OK Yoops, I'm back and I got a new thread started called BUZZ! Ya know got to keep some talk going on the B&R board anyway I can!!!!!

"On the Street" was somewhat boring this past weekend and I'm REALLY TIFFED AT THEM, cuz not one mention of TOBY or his new release and show is supposed to be about what is new that very week it airs.

I got one of them "On The Streets" episodes recorded and will be watching some country music TV this weekend...thinking of coming back next week and starting something like a What's Happening thread.

No, no CD purchase yet, Heikej....Showdog sent me a little clip of part of the song and then I got a full listen to it from another 'send-out' that was for radio broadcasting DJ's to take a listen!....COME ON AIRPLAY!!!!!

Well Yoops, I would never make a living out of being a music critic and sometimes just like a woman, I do change my mind about some things...but I'm proud of the ear I got and go with my INSTINCTS!

This week Tanya Tucker got a new release...hmmm, My Turn is the name of it...all OLD TIME COUNTRY songs, all were hits done by men....I'm just still a little peeved at Tanya....few years back she was booked to do a Christmas show at one of our most prestigious theatrical venues here in town. I'm telling you she was unprepared and unrehearsed and it was AWFUL and it wasn't just ME....was what all the reviewers said also....audience felt like they had been stolen from paying a ticket price to see that....several of my friends said they could have brought in the top 10 karaoke artist in our own town to sing and they would have topped her show more than six ways to Sunday. Think she was asked about it all and was SO UNAPOLOGETIC about it! I'm not inclined to spend further money on anything Tanya!

Last week one of the Dixie Chicks former husband Charlie Robison (sp?) had a new release and they featured his video El Cerrito Way...think written by Keith Gattis....he sounds a little bit like too much whiskey and too many cigarettes and a whole lot 'world weary'...but I couldn't keep that song outta my head...got a lot of repetition in it something like "I was looking for you, I was looking for you", it is downright plainly somewhat haunting to my ears...the whole song thing....wasn't so much SOLD on the video part myself. It was OK, but with that song, something inside me said the video people could have made it so much better.

I wish I had that OTHER channel, that's the only one I don't get. CMT gotta quite playing these stupid movies over and over, yeah that's right I said it,and get back to country. But I always have a good friend that keeps me up on all the good news and I thank you for that. Anything else I missed????

Where Heikej has not been.....the other channel....you know THE ONE.....been doing a good job keeping Kenny's video introduced and run! If it hadn't been for them I would have missed it....think one of my favorite shows over there is like ON THE STREET....every week, only 1/2 hour....all the lastest releases and news with the tidbits that I love and appreciate....like I said..they got the 'programming to who' pretty down with me! Luv it!

I like to know where I have been and didn't know about Big Kenny's new song and video. Good video and the song not bad, your right Yooper crank it and it's good. All I hope is them boys better get together again, enough of this SOLO stuff, now BK is judging Can You Duet.....

BTW Kayefun I love GOD IS GREAT and the video is great also and lordy Billy is so darn qute.....ok enough said.

Yoops, thought of one example...when I very first heard Billy Currington's..GOD IS GREAT, beer is good and people are crazy....I instantly liked it and still get tickled every time it plays around me....whereas I didn't get that 'it' right away with Kenny's new song, but like I said last post, it is one that is 'growing' on me....sort of like a 'sleeper movie' that comes out, doesn't get a big TA DA and then WHOMP, people catch on and like!

Culpepper, Virgina.....the song LONG AFTER I'M GONE or something like that...the more I see the video, the more the song 'grows' on me....I DO SO LOVE THE VIDEO part a WHOLE LOT....so many nuances....the horse in the kind of dry broken tree patch....the little Lincoln child.....the song just wasn't an 'instant' like for me! I'm just one of them kind of gals that sometimes my 'listening ear' has gotta be EARNED!

Going home for the day....yep, think Virginia where Kenny was raised...his family place! I get my best information from the other channel....they care enough to tell us important stuff! Like we MEAN something! LOL....See ya next week!

Say what ya want here amongst freinds. I was leaning toward that also, and that is why I focused on the fact that it is all his personality.... whick meant I agree, it didn't knock me over like Jamie Johnson's new,or 8'th of Nov., or whatever. But, I fealt the same about "shuttin detroit down"... great message delivered so so to me. I am more BK than JR anyway, but I think their best stuff is the duo stuff.

I SAW IT, loved his folk's place where he grew up, loved them and his wife and son in the video, I LIKE KENNY, gonna be honest, wasn't 'too sold' on the song....kind of upset with myself, cuz it wasn't memorable enough for me...I can plainly recall most all the video and even Kenny singing, but little of the song melody or lyrics......Please remember, I like Kenny and am supportive, so DON'T HATE ON ME for being honest!
