Well Kenny may have gotten the most in touring, but his album sales are not as good as Keith's right now. DG is still in the top twenty and KC and BP albums are not even in the top twenty on BB. What else has Kenny done except for the tours..in fact what does he do every year besides his tour? As far as BP, the only thing he's done besides his touring is the White House and personally, I think it hurt him a little! Oh yeah he did AI, but put in a blah performance compared to Keith's performance on the show. However, I don't know who will get EOTY. The way things are changing in Country Music, it's anybody's award, but Keith sure deserves it. France has already awarded Brad, so he's got one, so give this to Keith!! lol!! And Taylor's young, she can win it later on. Just my 2 cents.

As much as we don't like it, the "cha ching" factor is a big one when picking EOTY (or MV/FV). Same with AOTY as well...how many albums sold, how much $$ made on tour...sell out crowds, etc. Also what the nominee has done for country music...i.e. have they crossed genre lines and to what extent. I think that's a big one. Nashville wants to bring new people in to this genre. You can't deny Taylor has done all of the above just as Keith did the same in the past and Kenny (obviously). I think Keith's chances are far better this year than they have been over the past few years but all the nominees are deserving (even Taylor).

I was trying to figure out the other night (objectively) who I thought would win EOTY. I think KC may win it. He's taking a break from touring for a while which means he won't win next year. They may just give him one more win knowing he's taking that break.

I was also pondering the notion that Taylor was bringing so much fresh blood to the country genre. Personally, I don't believe she is. Her fan base is so young that there are not too many acts that those fans would even like. If she were interested in bringing that fresh blood here, she wouldn't change her music to fit the pop music format. She often "de-countrifies" her songs for consumumption on "other" radio stations.

As for Brad, I don't think he'll win EOTY this year although he'll continue winning MVOY I believe.

Anyway, I'm a lot more hopeful for this awards show. If I had to pick an award for Keith to win it would be AOTY. I believe that's the one he would covet the most.

I just hope that the voters would vote with a different (thinking+feeling) hat on. Not ka-ching ka-ching ($$$ signs floating above their head). I am very happy that Keith had won once (I bet people voted with their heart than head that year, keith had huge radio success but his album sales wouldn't be far ahead of KC or Tim etc.). Now the question is will BP ever get one especially with Taylor and Carrie becoming nominees for forseeable future. Jimmy Carter will be ahving some hissy fits. BP should have won once in the past two years. Getting it as a consolation/well his turn is not a nice feeling.

Next big one will be Lady A. Can Sugarland get any bigger than this? I don't see any other male superstars for a decade (may be somebody will start showing up tomorrow HEE HEE). As time goes by, new generation comes up.

(Re: HOF concert; I am having a secret feeling that some people were itched to say it as a publicity stunt, but the cause is so great/they won't dare to offend/they'll get a backlash if they do. They kept quiet and it grudgingly mentioned. If it is somebody else, they would have come out OMG x ~).

I'll just keep on rooting for Keith (set aside all other rationales).

I saw that article too and more than that did you read the comments section as to how many of them posted for Keith? I just hope sensibility prevails and the voting members do vote for Keith as ETOY, something he totally deserves.

I agree, Keith deserves many awards on the 11th. I noticed Chet Flippo named Taylor as his pick on the front page this morning. He makes me ill the way he always casually mentions Keith, like, oh yeah he could possibly because of this and that!! I think Keith has done a lot for country music and he is here to stay. I watched his Biography last night and he had so many struggles to get to where he is and he has so much talent and then these others just pop on the scene and shoot to the top. Not saying they don't work hard either, but Keith being different made him have to work extra hard!

Me, too, savvy. He was a surprise winner in 2005--it COULD happen again.
Sure hope so because he absolutely deserves it. CMA voters are very unpredictable. Who would have thought Carrie or Rascal Flatts would not be not be on the EOTY nomination list?

I hope this is Keith's year for ETOY.

Of course, I will vote for Keith, and thanks for the reminder. Even though all these internet polls don't count for much, I never fail to vote for him as much as I can. I am hoping that since the CMA Awards are voted on by CMA members that Keith may have a chance to win something this year, but I am afraid Brad Paisley and Taylor Swift seem to be the most desired flavor of the year with the media. I've noticed these two have even taken over People Magazine. Whether he wins anything, Keith will always be my pick for Entertainer of the Year or even Entertainer of the Decade or Most talented Artist of the Century if there was such a title. I really think Keith deserves some kind of recognition on the 11th. He has had a great year and has worked really hard to entertain us all and helping raise over $500,000 for the Country Hall of Fame was quite a feat.
