This probably boring to some people, but we had to check if there was an airport in Ashland.  I just want Jeff to know that it is an adventure to locate it!

I was watching  The Blue Collar Comedy Tour (or whatever they call it).  I heard Jeff talking about his experience to get to his show in Huntington, WV. He stated an airplane had forgotten to put the wheels down so the airport in Huntington was closed. Now I don't know about that one. He continued to explain that they had to land @ the Greater Ashland Kentucky Airport. I reside a few miles from Ashland KY but I had no idea where "The Greater Ashland Airport" was located. One afternoon, we decided to find that airport. We drove around for hours, asked for directions, and STILL didn't have a clue.  I knew it was not in Ashland KY. FINALLY, an aircraft flew over so we knew that an airport had to be around somewhere. We were somewhere @ a stop sign looking at a map when the driver in the car behind us blew the horn. We didn't even think anyone was around for miles. My fiance jumped out without removing his seat belt & was ready to let his mouth overide his brain. I had no need to be concerned since the person blowing the horn was an elderly lady probably close to 90 years of age. I just had to attempt not to laugh!  Suddenly, a plane flew overhead so we decided to follow the plane.. only we didn't have an airplane. After a few hours while still on our mission, we ACTUALLY discovered the airport. We watched as a pilot landed his small plane, put it in the hanger, & drive off in his vehicle. There was no one to help him. He was wearing a commerical pilot's uniform. Jeff was NOT exaggerating about the airport.  There were little bushes. I haven't a clue who placed a target deer by the airfield  fence or who used it for target practice.  It's a small airstrip & that's it ....that's all! No wonder the people who were to pick Jeff up for his show couldn't locate him. No restrooms, no people, no vehicles!  I have been wanting to tell Jeff that it took us hours to locate that airport & we have lived in this area for years! Some of his stories are actually real!!
