I just saw Gretchen in concert on July 31st and she announced that, despite parting ways with her label, her album WILL be released in November. She then said, "This next song is going to be MY next single, chosen by ME, because it's what I want you to hear". She then launched into "Work Hard, Play Harder".

So there you have it. She and Sony haven't been seeing eye to eye, and now she's free to do what SHE wants with her career. Let's hope it's not too late, and she can make a comeback.

By the way, she also sang "The Earrings Song". It ROCKED in concert. She also sang "I Got Your Country Right Here" (the title track to her album). It was very bluesy. I really liked it.

No worries, GW will do alot better on her own label, Sony sucked when it came to promoting her previous records. She has an awesome voice and her ballads are beautiful and then she can definantly rock the house. I love all of her music and will buy the next one and go to any concerts in or around Southern California, Nevada or AZ just like we have in the past. Keep up the great work Gretchen!

hey, maybe she could set up and play Shawneetown ,IL when all the bikers come thru?? that would be a step for her though. She's clawing for anything she can get now and her own label isn't going to help. She'll end up selling more records promoting somebody else.

watch and see, I am. I've been right to many times and the nay sayers all have flown the coop or the message board....whichever.

Sony was doing a horrible job promoting her...if you can call their total lack of attention to her "promotion." They only sprung for one video from her last album, and even that was a done-on-the-cheap live video. If the record company doesn't create buzz around an artist, they won't get air play. Instead, they'll play the latest pop country Taylor Swift clone.

I think Gretchen will do far better on her own.

Gretchen it the best redneck woman out there.....She is a real woman who stands up for herself and what she believes in!!! I love her but we do need to see more from her. Give her the chance to clear up what she needs to do and I truly believe she will make a comeback!! Love you Gretchen!! Come back girl, we need you! We believe in YOU!!

Gretchen is stuck in a catch-22 situation. Her redneck image and songs are what earned her the success she's had, but country radio overall seems to be over it. But when she puts out a ballad, people don't take it seriously. If you look at a history of her song chart peaks, her ballads didn't do as well as her redneck songs. (with the exception of "When I Think About Cheatin' - it came out towards the beginning of Gretchenmania, so it did well).

Nowadays, nothing she puts out does well, because radio has chosen not to play her. So it doesn't matter WHAT she puts out. That may change, now that she's no longer with Sony. We'll just have to wait and see.

Funny that radio didn't play those singles. I just got "Don't Do Me No Good" and "The Earrings Song" on karaoke, and when I sang them this past weekend, the crowd loved them. Just goes to show that what's on country radio isn't necessarily what the FANS want to hear, but more what the radio station chooses to play.

i hope all 3 singles released that failed will be on the album - "Don't Do Me No Good" and "Earrings" and "If I Could Do It All Again" despite their poor chart performance, they are fabulous recordings!!! go gretchen!!

so her album will still be called "I GOT YOUR COUNTRY RIGHT HERE" - We heard that last year" a lot of the time, artists release a single, it doesn't do well and then they re-record the album with a different title and track listing!!! We deserve this album and you deserve it too!! shame on them, making Gretchen wait a full year without new music!!!
