Unless I'm reading the article wrong, Merle was honored by the Academy of Country Music with the Poet's Award on September 22nd in Nashville.  It's a pretty good read on their website for those interested.  You may already know this, but if not it's worth reviewing.  At least we know he's still up and at em ... there's a few good photos to prove it.
