ITYS duet only made it to #2 on Billboards top country singles chart. But it did hit #1 on the mediabase charts.
Speakingof the duet, I wonder if it will be nominated in the colaboration catagory for the up comming CMA awards? It certainly should be! And it deserves to be.

Let us get caught up on some Randy Travis news:
    1. His I Told You So: The Ultimate Hits of Randy Travis CD opened up in the #3 position on the top country CD charts. At #2 is Carrie Underwood's Carnival Ride and at #1 is Taylor Swift's Fearless (#1 for the past 19 weeks).
    2. The duet between R.T. and C.U. is at #11 on the country charts and #9 on the POP charts. This marks Travis' FIRST time in that section of the chart.
Way to go R.T. and C.U.!

Love their duet. What a great performance by them both. Yes, you definitely could see the admiration and respect that each have toward each other.
Someone on his official site summed it up pretty well, saying Randy appeared to take pride in her and her perforance like a dad would his son or daughter.
On youtube there have already been over 58,718 views.Thats incredible!

What a fantastic performance by a Legend and a Legend in waiting. It was masterful. You could see the total respect in both of their faaces. I know Carrie was totally honored singing with Randy. She had grown up idolizing him and had to be thrilled to sing his song with him. Yes we are going to see ITYS go to #1 yet again

Wow! Randy and Carrie's performance last night was simply beautiful! You could plainly see the respect and admiration each have for each other. Randy is sure to be seeing his song ITYS reach #1 on the charts for the second time! I will be voting for Carrie for the ACM Entertainer of the Year award after seeing Idol last night. Randy was a great mentor on AI last night. He truly paid attention to their brief performance ( that we see) during the mentoring stage. I thought he did a fantastic job. And as one critic stated Randy is the best mentor so far that he has ever seen on the show. I agree.

I pre-ordered my fanpack through Randy's site. Can't wait for it to be delivered. In the meantime though, I downloaded the new song from the I Told You So CD and also downloaded the Randy/Carrie duet. Loving it!

Dolly Parton took her I Will Always Love You to #1 in 1974 and 1982.

My understanding is that both versions count toward the total spin count and if the spin count of the duet exceeds the spins of the solo, then Randy will also receive chart credit. So it's possible that Randy could have two #1 singles with the same song. Wonder if that's ever been done before?
