The Magnus Review - Final Battle
JB Rocket - I love these guys, there are one of my 3 favorites to win the show, I love the song, I like the uniqueness of thier sound. I noticed that they while Jonathan sung lead mostly they did hand it to Brandon here and there. The mix was good, they were on tune the whole song, upbeat and slow at the same time. A great performance. But was it good enough. The worked off each other very well, Brandon did a good job with the song. Either way, I think they are going somewhere, this even whether they win tonight or not, will not be the last time we here from them...
Steel Magnolia - One of my 3 favorits to win from the beginning, they have a good sound, but in my opinon need to stay with there own sound and not to to "twang it up". They've only performed once that I didnt like them, and it was because of the twang she put in, it was just too much and too fakey. However I am still very happy to see them make it to this point. They are more southern rock than old time country, that they proved tonight, I like the sound, but have to ask, is this country? They performed well, they worked the stage very well.
Catlin and Will - Really good to see them, I've been waiting for them to show, figured it would be on the last song. Watching them on stage is amazing, I loved them last year, they were one of my picks to win. I read online that Catlin wrote this song for a relitive that passed away, what a beautiful song.
2nd Performance...
JB Rocket - Second song.. ewwwww I did not like it.. I dont think this was there best, I hope it doesnt ruin thier chance for winning. got to hear Brandon play a little lead, I think they did this to answer the southern rock thing, but if I was judging the two duets from this song. Steel Magnolia would win.
Steel Magnolia - Wow, I like this one... I notice both thier songs were about love tonight.. At this moment, I think they got it.... They really have learned how to work the stage.. If they win, I know this is the song that did it...
So here I sit waiting...
YUP I knew it, they had it from the beginning... One rough song, but they have a stage presence that is undeniable. I think we will be hearing from JB Rocket again though so dont count them out.. Would not surprise me if Big Machine records picked them up as well... Very pleased with this... cant wait to see what happens next for all the duets that showed up this year..
Still a little disappointed in the judging this year, but in the end I agree with thier choice... Hmm seems like Scott has given us a hiint that he might be signing JBR...
