What did you think of the show?
The only people worth watching to me were Alison Krauss, Trace Adkins, Brad Paisley, and Toby Keith. Right now, I don't feel so good. I can't count the number of times that I have cried already about James Otto losing the Nation Wide On Your Side award to Gloriana, I love him so much!!! (shaking) God bless you and him and my other favorites always!!!

Here it is September and I finaly broke down and watched the show because I new TS was such a huge part of it. I could of simply done without and got a lot less upset over the whole thing. It blew chunks as they say~ Next time I will not even bother to record.

Lost what little respect I had left for CMT awards show producers when they had that pathetic "talking head" Bill O'Reilly serve as a presenter. Great job, CMT, of falling flat on your face...I'll look for other places that have good country music news and stories to pass along to the true country music audience.

It's only gonna get worse folks, nobody stands up for Country music and the suits and ties on Music Row have NO respect for REAL COUNTRY music, todays country is a joke...I bet there wasn't even a tribute for the late and great Vern Gosdin but yet they make room for rap and rock. Alan Jackson and George Strait said it best with their song "Murder on Music Row", people are starving for real Country music and it's sad that it's come to this..really

Everyone says that Taylor is such a good role model. When I look at her the only thing I see is a spoiled teenager who gets whatever she wants from her wealthy father. How else would a very young teenager get a job writing songs on music row if money wasn't involved? Or how would a teenager who can't carry a tune in a bucket get as far as she has if money wasn't involved? Must be nice having a rich daddy!

My husband and I recorded the show and tried to watch the next night. We fast forwarded the whole show, it was the worst thing I have seen for an award show ever. What junk shop did the clothing come from, these people make millions of dollars, can they not afford a decent suit of clothes? We both had the same appalled expression. Not only with the whole show lay out but with the "country" stars, who are these people, where was George Strait, I saw Alan Jackson and I like Brad Pasley, these rock people and rappers were just over the top.

First of all, the show was done in very bad taste! It was an overkill of taylor swift! As a parent, I dont understand why everyone thinks shes a role model for our kids. I dont want my daughter in a rap video or whatever that was at the start of the show. Next, I dont want my daughter dancing like that with an older man! All she need was an pole on stage! I will not be watching next year!

Although I did not watch all of the show (as most of it stunk) I wonder where some of the people "purchase" their clothes. Men in old shirts, ratty blue jeans and shorts??? Woman in "glamor" outfits. They are getting to "pop" with the music. I know young artist are up and coming but, they are not the ones who "make" country. True about the "seasoned" performers being left out.

I am sooooooooooo sick of Taylor Swift. She is all hype and cannot sing and why have rap on the CMA's. She always sounds so flat and out of tune. She would be nothing without electronics. I am a country fan but Taylor is so POP, it's sickening. I change my radio channel everytime they play her. I love Brad, Keith, Trace, etc...............please let's get back to our county folks.

I agree with iluvmmandku. If pop acts have to be there, fine, but the songs that are done should be ones that are country songs and nothing else. Same thing with the other way around. If a country act is to sing with a pop act at a pop awards show, it should be a pop song that they sing.

    God bless you always!!!

P.S. After saying all of that, I started thinking about two of the times that I have seen Sugarland sing at the Grammy and American Music awards which is when all forms of music gather together pretty much. Jennifer and Kristian performed with two pop acts: Beyonce (spelling?) and the girl who beat Lady Antebellum for the Best New Artist of the Year Grammy award a few months ago. When a country act sings with a pop act at a show like the Grammy & American Music awards, what kind of song should be done: Country or pop? To me, it should be a country song because pop is what is mostly shown on them shows in the first place. Country music is lucky to get any time on them shows.

I was at the show with realy great seats and thought it was a great show. I'm looking forward to next years and hoping to be able to get tickets to that one as well. I personaly thought Taylor was great and so Was Def Leppard. All of the performances were great.

I think it's alright for them to have non-country singers/celebrities on the show, but they should have them singing a country song with a country singer, rather than the country singer singing a rock/rap/pop song with them. I mean, they don't call them COUNTRY music awards for no reason.

I don't think I will watch it next year. While Taylor Swift deserved a spot on the show, she did not deserve the whole show. It would have been nice to see some other performers. Unless the show sounds like it will have more variety (so it won't border on BORING), I won't be watching.

PCNU64 YOU SAID IT THE BEST I AGREE WITH YOU 100 per cent, she differently needs to move over and leave country alone.

I am done with the CMT awards. That was the most pathetic show ever. There's very little country even in it anymore. The teenage princess needs to permanently cross over to pop and stay there and rap and hard rock don't have any business being on a country awards show. Why doesn't CMT just merge with MTV. You can't even tell the difference anymore.

I just want to say that I am very disappointed that my favorites, Brooks & Dunn were not on the show. I know they performed last year. I also agree that certain people got to perform numerous times, while there are legends in the audience like Alan Jackson and Martina who should have sung instead. This is supposed to be a show honoring country music. If I want to watch def leppard and Ted Nugent, I'll go to a rock concert.

I see my response to Flower was removed. Obviously some people don't like hearing the truth. The only thing I said was my dislike for Taylor Swift didn't have anything to do with Carrie Underwood. Carrie can sing on-key (which Taylor cannot) but I'm just not a fan of her style of music.

I also said that I thought Kenny Chesney should have won EOTY over Carrie and that I thought it was wrong to have this award fan voted.

Moopowerx said the last performance of the night was the worst. That’s because it was Taylor running and jumping around the stage flipping her hair around trying to act like a rock star. It was actually embarrassing to watch. And if that wasn’t bad enough her singing (if that’s what you want to call it) was painful to listen to. I loved Def Leppard. I just wish they could have performed alone without the little rock-star wattabe.

I understand that MTV owns CMT but the majority of the show I watched belonged on MTV, not CMT. After all, CMT stands for COUNTRY Music Television.

For those of you complaining that the show was too much like MTV or VH-1, do you realize that CMT is owned by MTV?? That's why there are fewer and fewer videos, and more shows like "Nanny 911", etc. And for those of you who are disappointed that your favorites didn't win, or that some artists had double nominations in a category, that's what happens when awards are "fan-voted". Think about that the next time you complain about "industry-voted" awards like the CMAs or the Grammys. Can't please everybody. (Re the double nominations: SL and RF could have split the vote in their categories and just as easily have lost.)
