rf fan, a small correction. The CMAs are not fan voted. The academy members are composed of people in the country music industry, and they are the only ones officially allowed to vote. Those fan polls are not counted in the CMAs. And money IS a factor in their voting--whoever makes the biggest impact on country music, i.e., who sells the most albums and concert tickets are definitely considered when it comes to the major awards.
